In the current age, waste is an assumed byproduct of society. But, what if instead of disassociating ourselves with this surplus, we transformed it into a coveted material? Through reassembly, we can harness the past lives of these materials into new forms of architecture; a strategy for material reuse that creates tension between the senses and the ideal. This tension forces architecture to assess the relationship between construction and deconstruction, and how the built environment can respond. By creating a process that depicts the moving conflict between discard and desire, it serves as a reminder that this accumulation is harmful and hopes to create incentives to keep oceans waste-free.
